Connect and work together!

More hands on work, volunteer numbers and new volunteer groups are desperately required! The little remaining bushland on the Cumberland Plain is classified as a Critically Endangered Ecological Community (Cumberland Plain Woodland; CPW) and is under constant threat, particularly with development.

Report plant findings!

When you're out getting some sunlight and fresh air, visit a place that burned last year, snap some photos of plants, and answer a few easy questions for us. Western Sydney University, NPWS, and DPIE want to learn more about how long it takes for plants to reproduce after a severe bushfire like the 2019-20 fires.

Assist with campaigns!

HEN is the leading representative organisation for environmental information, advocacy, education and action in the Hawkesbury region. Assist with campaigns, volunteer, donate, or just help us spread the word about what can be done to look after what we all love about our beautiful region.

Working with aboriginal communities

This initiative within the NSW Landcare Program will increase opportunities to consciously develop stronger connections and partnerships between Landcare groups and Aboriginal Communities.

The dead tree detective!

The aim of the project is to collect observations of dead or dying trees around Australia. It sounds a bit grim, but knowing where and when trees have died will help us to work out what the cause is, identify trees that are vulnerable, and take steps to protect them.

Visit, support and volunteer!

The Gardens volunteers assist with the scientific, horticultural and conservation work of the Gardens. Support the gardens! We host a wonderful range of activities and events for our members. Our science team bring together a range of disciplines and specialisations, they work with industry and governments, and collaborate with a national and global network to produce world class research.
